Entomology Club

About

Millersville Entomology Club is the place on campus for anyone who is interested insects and wants to share their passion with other insect-loving folks

We organize insect and arthropod related activities on campus such as beekeeping, insect collecting, pollinator gardens, insect collection management, and other activities.

We have three beehives on campus located just off of the concrete staircase between Brossman and Pucillo. We teach how to raise bees and collect honey along with beehive management. You do not need previous experience to be involved with the beehives.

We are in the planning process of rebuilding the pollinator garden behind Roddy and Caputo.

In the spring of 2018 a large collection of pinned insects was donated to the Biology Department containing over 3,000 pinned insects collected by a local insect enthusiast, Al Spoo. We are attempting to catalog and organize his collection.

We take members on field trips as well as hikes to create a blend of indoor and outdoor activities!
